The Test From God and Our Life

Reason Why God Gives Us a Test
When God came to the Earth, He came like us in every way. The purpose of God’s coming was for God’s people to meet Him and receive salvation. Nevertheless, because He comes ordinarily, this is God’s great test. In other words, He feels all the same things mankind feels while on this Earth, which is a difficult test for all people. However, those who sincerely want to seek God and come to know the Savior will be the ones who pass the test. The question mankind is given on God’s test is, “Where can we find God who comes to Earth?”
The reason why God gives such a difficult question is that in the end there are in store great blessings and revealing who had a sincere belief in God. To help us understand the value of the reward compared to the difficulty of the test let us think about the following example. When it comes to taking tests, such as College exams versus elementary exams, we can see they have very different levels of difficulty. Also, when we compare College exams to law school exams we can see these too cannot compare in difficulty. As the test gets harder, we can receive opportunities for higher positions, income, and status. In the same way, God gives a difficult test because the unfathomable reward of reigning in the Kingdom of Heaven is granted to those who pass the test.
One Who Passes the Test
In the Old Testament times, God guided and taught the Israelites how to follow and keep His laws. However, in many God-given situations, their faith was exposed as most gave up their faith in the true God and followed other gods. Therefore, in the end, though everyone at first said they believe in God only Joshua and Caleb passed the test because they had sincere faith in God. This is the same test for everyone today. Everyone will be tested in their sincerity in God for the opportunity to receive God’s gift.
John 17:2-3 For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
In our own opinion, we may have many thoughts about how God should be, appear and feel when He comes to Earth a second time. However, we must strive to pass the test by not following our own thoughts but instead listening to the words of God. According to the Bible prophecies, we must come to know the Spirit and the Bride, the Saviors, in this age, which will be even twice as hard as Jesus’ first coming. Only those who pass the test and come to know the Saviors in this age can receive the salvation that They bring.
God Comes in an Unexpected Way
Most believers today think that God, will come in a supernatural way; but, if He comes in this way, who would dare not receive Him? If He comes in such a supernatural way, can we say that He is coming as a test? Never! Instead, Christ comes as a test for everyone, and reveals what is truly in people’s hearts.
Isaiah 8:13-15 “The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread. He will be a holy place; for both Israel and Judah he will be a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall. And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare. Many of them will stumble; they will fall and be broken, they will be snared and captured.”
Through this prophecy we can see there must be many who will not pass God’s test. In other words, for many people, Christ will come to them as a stumbling block. To not be the ones who fail the test, we must come to receive the Savior sincerely. God comes to give salvation and will grant it to the ones who come to know him in his second coming.
John 5:39 You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me.
To know God, we come to study the Bible diligently. Usually, the question we were least prepared for was on our test and we had to make a guess. Then we learned to study more diligently. Also, the higher the status that can be gained the harder the test becomes for us. Then how hard will the test be for those who are chosen to reign in the Kingdom of Heaven? The one who truly regards the words of God, who has the power of salvation or destruction, will not take God’s commands or recognizing the Savior lightly. Instead he will make every effort to prepare for and pass the test. In this way, everyone’s true faith will eventually be exposed when each person is given God’s test.
God’s Reward for Passing
God shows us that there is a great reward upon passing His test.
John 1:10-12 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
The right to become the children of God is given only to the ones who come to recognize and believe in God. It is difficult to truly believe in God who came in an ordinary and unexpected way. Even those who claimed to be God’s people, such as the leaders and teachers of God’s laws, came to reject the Savior. Though they diligently studied the words of God, they were not able to pass the test. It may seem like God is not watching, but God is testing everyone’s faith to see if they truly believe in God.
Colossians 1:26-27 The mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Christ comes as a great mystery to the people of the world. People who do not come to know the mystery of God cannot receive eternal life. In other words, the people who do not come to know the mystery, who is Christ, become disqualified from the first test. Then, those who do not believe in Christ will be disqualified from the second test. These are two questions everyone must pass to receive the reward hidden in Christ. However, people fail to realize God’s test and do evil thinking that God is not watching them. On the contrary, God is watching everything that is in our actions and hearts.
Overcoming the Test
When people are placed in ungracious environments, they boldly commit sins against God.
1 Peter 2:4 As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him
People rejected the Christ who came to this world. If God had come in a majestic way everyone, even those who killed Christ, would have shouted praises to Jesus. The reason we can see this as the case is that those who rejected Jesus are those who have a superficial faith. They claimed to believe in God but could not receive Him when He came. Even though they had so much knowledge, if they failed the test, then all the knowledge they had was in vain.
Matthew 13:10-11 The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.
Some will know the secrets of God and Heaven. They are those who believe in God, who comes to Earth. Those who receive Christ when He comes a second time are very blessed because they are given the secrets and the correct knowledge of God. In order for this to be us when He comes, we have to see Christ correctly through the Bible. We must not fail the test by looking at things physically or with our thoughts.
Matthew 11:6 Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.
Those who see the spiritual things correctly will not stumble and fail the test. Now the test in this age is much more difficult because we must correctly recognize Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother who come as the Spirit and the Bride in the last days.
Revelation 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.
According to the Bible, the Spirit and the Bride who come are Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother. Even though we may have had preconceived thoughts about the Bible or how Christ would come, we must come to believe solely in the words of God. If we do not come to believe in God’s words we will fail the test that God gives to all mankind. If we fail the test we cannot receive the reward of the water of life which is salvation. Nevertheless, everyone who has sincere faith in God and receives God’s words will be able to correctly answer God’s test and will be the ones who will receive the reward of reigning in Heaven forever.
