A Joyful Life
July 24, 2023
As God’s people, we earnestly look forward to the Kingdom of Heaven, where there is eternal joy and happiness! Until we enter the spiritual kingdom, we must first practice being joyful always, by smiling, spreading laughter, and talking about the positive things in our lives. When we are joyful we will feel thankful to God and be able to press on for eternal joy in Heaven all the more!
Mother Helps Us Feel Joyful
It is said that children laugh many times more than adults do. Do you wonder why that is? It is because children are always with their mothers, the source of their laughter. Since the earth is a copy and shadow of Heaven, we can realize that we will feel more joyful when we come near to our Heavenly Mother!
Isaiah 66:10-14 Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her, rejoice greatly with her, all you who mourn over her. For you will nurse and be satisfied at her comforting breasts; you will drink deeply and delight in her overflowing abundance.” For this is what the Lord says: “I will extend peace to her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream; you will nurse and be carried on her arm and dandled on her knees. As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.
In Galatians 4:26, we can understand that Jerusalem represents our Heavenly Mother. God’s people are prophesied to rejoice in Jerusalem, meaning we will delight and be glad when we come to God the Mother! Just as mothers make their children laugh because they want them to be happy, Heavenly Mother wants us to go to Her and feel Her comfort so we can feel joyful and blissful. If we do not feel joy in our daily lives, let’s think more about our Heavenly Mother, Who always puts a smile on our faces by giving us Her love.
Zion Is Where We Can Feel True Happiness
God dwells in Zion, so it is natural that God’s people will find happiness and gladness in Zion.
Psalms 132:13 For the Lord has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling…
Isaiah 51:3 The LORD will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing.
God established Zion as the place of salvation for the people of God. By coming to Zion and remembering the gift of eternal life God granted, we can surely put into practice the will of God to be joyful always.
1 Thessalonian 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Consider how God saved us from our sins and death! Thinking about this, we can feel joy and thankfulness toward God! There is no greater joy than walking with God who leads us to the Kingdom of Heaven.
